Tonally a far more pleasant experience than the first (it helps that it mostly takes place during daylight). It leans into the absurdity of its premise and isn’t afraid to be ridiculous. Also, Seagal may have even fewer lines of dialogue than in the previous movie, which is always a plus. There are missiles and knife fights and giant explosions and cliffhangers and a young Morris Chestnut looking pretty. In short: this movie honks.
Jeselnik remains the best of all "edgy" comedians simply because he refuses to stray from three principles:
1) Craft above all. The writing itself matters just as much as the content, if not more.
2) To make a living joking about dark and "offensive" topics, one must embrace being the villain. By adopting the persona of an egotistical asshole who does awful things over the course of a joke / bit, he ironically absolves himself of all blame. We know…

UPDATE: Subtracted another star when I woke up still furious that this is a $400 million movie that makes genocide seem cool and insubstantial and argues conflict can be solved with a snap (and the most destructive weapon). This movie isn’t just poorly made; it’s the embodiment of fascist ideology that many scholars argue is inherent to the genre. It’s the worst MCU film, no question.
