More The thing that makes the backrooms so compelling to me is its pure neutrality. Every building we walk through is designed by a person for a purpose and we have an inherent trust with an architect that exit sign will lead to an exit, a walkway is safe to walk on, and so on. The backrooms leans into the fear of pure, uncaring randomness that is so off-putting in a really beautiful way.
