Paul Newman could keep a four hour movie exciting, he’s maybe my favorite to ever do it. Such a great face actor, which rules in this movie bc there are so many scenes of him realizing something or reflecting. He’s just got the kind of face I would love watching as he sees a new type of bird in his garden or smelling something that surprisingly reminds him of home
Absolutely saved my night after a horrible bolts overtime loss in the playoffs. But! Kinetic, bold animation,,, such a gorgeous and colorful combination of styles that perfectly align with and encourage the film’s emphasis on ephemera and the Variety of Experience. And funny!

I didn’t quite feel like A Kid Again while watching Daffy Duck maniacally smash an asteroid with a hammer, but I did feel a sense of The Kid That I Was sitting next to me in the theater, laughing along with me
I also had the much less abstract sense of Sam sitting next to me in the theater, not having quite as fun of a time, but being a good sport about it all the same. Such is the power of a movie theater
