Really amazing. Some truly incredible, masterpiece filmmaking.

But also some stuff that was kinda whatever, but somehow I didn't mind.

Very strange tone that still worked. America as the evil empire in a really horrifying way...but also a farce. It didn't feel like I had any particular insight and was almost seemingly intentionally shallow at times...social caricature more than social commentary...but really enjoyable to watch.

It’s basically a crime against humanity to spend 400 million dollars on what should be a 60 entry youtube video animation of a fan fiction series. 

James Cameron has no interest in human relationship and like titanic here the characters are incredibly flat. the metaphors are ham fisted and insane. He wants to be making movies in 1994 still - Dances with Cat People.

This felt like two hours of superbowl  commericials. 

It starts as a truly unfun slog. Every beat is spoonfed to the audience and the jokes feel completely flat. Gerwig wants to poke fun at empowerment culture but it's toothless and the waffling on earnestness continues throughout. Basically she is pseudo critiquing Mattel but ultimately making a large scale advertisement.
