Really amazing. Some truly incredible, masterpiece filmmaking.

But also some stuff that was kinda whatever, but somehow I didn't mind.

Very strange tone that still worked. America as the evil empire in a really horrifying way...but also a farce. It didn't feel like I had any particular insight and was almost seemingly intentionally shallow at times...social caricature more than social commentary...but really enjoyable to watch.

Felt like it had elements of what Roma wanted to be. Just this swirling social…

It starts as a truly unfun slog. Every beat is spoonfed to the audience and the jokes feel completely flat. Gerwig wants to poke fun at empowerment culture but it's toothless and the waffling on earnestness continues throughout.
