Earns mostly high praise from me, because generally speaking this reminded me of what i love about Sebastian Silva's Nasty Baby et al, which is the way it is able to constantly demonstrate an understanding of the forms + functions of the indie dramedy / rom com, eroding away at them until it subverts + warps them into something scary, sad, infuriating, and funny. A movie opposed to disposability and carceral thought, one unconcerned with being misunderstood, that juggles its saccharine conceits and biting developments successfully?? Give me more!
