For me, sound design can elevate a horror movie a full star rating, which was the case here.

Mo(ther!) Is Afraid

Not as good as Chapter 1, but by no means a failure of a film. Characters seem more cardboard, performances not as strong as the kids’ and a bit of sloppier writing. Still a great two part film experience overall though.

Bad script, very loose plot and serves no purpose within the franchise. I enjoyed Rob Zombie's early films but this one has convinced me I've either lost my taste for them or he's lost his touch over time. I really think he needs to try to direct someone else's script for a change.
