You know, Kate, you’d be a lot prettier if you smiled. (IM KIDDING)
But truly this is so one note, it’s to the point of drubbing you with it all. Lesbians deserve better.
Just basura. Absurd of course that a book (??) would radicalize America, then laziness and tropes abound. The Cumberland Company piece went just completely unexamined, tossed in I presume as an attempt at a statement about corporate takeover?
Truly a waste of a decent concept.
Expected this to be a brutal, gritty look at totalitarianism. And that was certainly an important part of it! But it’s funny, well-paced and gutting without trying to force the horrors on you. The horrors just exist in this film, like they do in real life. The tree scene is just devastating.
Oh my god. Oh my GOD. For the car chase scene aloneeeee go see this.
I’m also gonna try not to overhype by pointing out things like “reducing white supremacy to a shadowy underground cabal rather than a pervasive cultural problem isn’t ~actually~ accurate” but you gotta understand that if that’s the closest thing to a critique I can muster, this movie rips.
