Horrifying. A fantastic monkey’s paw Twilight Zone-esque horror about our greatest desires becoming our ultimate unravelling. This movie was incredibly effective with its use of horror, masterfully threading it into everyday life, and thus enhancing the terror in the process. I didn’t realise that I had already rated this film. Stupid that I had it on three stars since it’s a clear four. It’s a pretty great recipe for how to reboot a dormant franchise. The visuals still hold up very well and I thought the attention paid to non-dialogue sequences was very effective.
