"You're so cool, Kung Fu!"

My jaw is still on the floor. This movie is like that faint nostalgic memory of that one batshit movie you saw as a kid but you just can't quite remember the name. This is like when you're halfway through your day and suddenly you remember the crazy dream you had last night. I'm frustrated I haven't seen this movie countless times before. I am a changed person. So grateful this movie exists.

An unbelievable film. This may go down as one of my favorites ever. Harsh, jarring camera angles paired with uncanny, over the top performances, punctuated by violence and body horror. Characters stare into the camera. They writhe and thrash. Murder, suicide, agony. Terror the likes of a Cronenberg film, or something you might see in J-Horror. All of this is somehow wrapped…

First off, rest in peace to David Lynch. I always have meant to get around to his work, and it looks like it's finally time. Unfortunate that it had to be under these circumstances. Happy to have finally seen my first ever David Lynch film.
