I looooved this movie as a kid. It was one of my parent’s favorites. Little did I know when I watched it, as a ten year old, that my parent was trans. She was beyond thrilled to see a queer, cross dressing character!

I just rewatched it for the first time since my childhood and was delighted by how well it stood up. It’s not the best movie by any means, but I can see why I enjoyed it so much as a kid.

So that’s where the “Mr. Self-Destruct” intro. came from!

Such a sublime and nuanced performance by John Hurt. It might look like a Lifetime movie, but it is actually rather sweet and understated.

That needed 1000% more Adam Ant.
