In all its squalor, it's a more earnest and engaging portrayal of Nazism than any of the Hollywood Oscar bait slop that's been du jour from the last twenty years.

Look, it's not the perfect musical but it was a good place for this whole genre to start. And oh the dream ballet, how I adore the dream ballet.

I did not like this. Extremely stressful and scary throughout but also plodding and pointless. It felt less like a taut psychological thriller/horror and more like a mediocre Inside No 9 episode stretched to an hour and twenty minutes. A genuinely quite unpleasant cinema experience.
