basing these off feeling
I feel like i'm missing something. I see so many people celebrate the film as a feminist voyage of self-discovery, but every step of her journey is dictated by men, imposed onto her against her will from the very moment she's "born" (even taking away her decision to end her life by bringing her back, and robbing her of any autonomy just for the sake of discovery?)
The entire time, we're watching this woman with the mind of a toddler…
i'd give this three stars for the production and just overall how beautiful this was visually. Sofia Coppola is incredible at putting together a world you want to get lost in. Her attention to detail immerses you into her films straight away, but I always feel like the dialogues and characters lack substance.
