My heart is so heavy with melancholy. This is so beautiful. I think this film made me experience everything that everyone else felt when they watched The Tree of Life. How do you weave all the feelings a human can feel into a film that isn't even two hours long? Bliss and sadness, being young and being old, being born and dying. The random encounters we make, the losses we survive, and more than anything, the passing of time. I see the Malick references, but to me Malick never touched me as deeply as this did.

I only watched this because Ewan McGregor is in it. I would watch everything with him in it. I would even watch a movie in which he dives headfirst into a dirty toilet full of shit... Oh wait, I did!
