Enjoyed the animation + retro scenery + character design + body horror, but not the story. Lots of sexualized rape scenes, obnoxious dialogue, misogyny in general, etc. Despite how thrilling and graphic it tried to be, it wasn't very attention-grabbing either.

My dad enjoyed it, which is what matters more because he was a fan of the original. I thought it was fun, but I went in not knowing what to expect and wasn't really impressed.

Like others have said, the movie introduces a bunch of characters and plotlines that don't seem to be necessary, and many of which are kind of just messily resolved near the end in an uninteresting way.
