This really kept my attention for a silent film!! The black & white, sepia, and blue tones of the film were interesting. It was also pretty freaky with the nudity and demonic stuff for a 1922 movie! I also liked the ending sequence likening witch accusations to accusations of hysteria.
I really liked this movie! It was a little corny at the beginning, with the dynamic of the divers and the couple. But the terror and dread in the middle and end of the movie was palpable. I especially enjoyed the shots of the vastness of the ocean and the indigenous music.
The devil wears Prada is the most Libra-coded movie ever, and the devil wears Prada 2 is the second most libra-coded movie ever. I loved it, and I think the movie pivoted its storyline to fit the modern media landscape really well! It also had a lot of laugh-worthy moments, and I love the new characters that the movie introduced. I just wish we could’ve seen more about Andy and Miranda Priestley’s personal lives.
