Ralph Fiennes’ character makes this movie 5 star worthy in my heart. I loved the continuation of his story as a gentle eccentric with a passion for studying and practicing medicine. Once again 28 Years has given me a movie that beautifully juxtaposes needless violence with tenderness.
Minus 1 star for the jimmies because the story was interesting but such a hard watch for me.
I love when a director can convey the impact of terrible violence without showing the audience torture porn. This movie captures a beautiful range of emotion and left me feeling a certain way!
I watched this after visiting the Jim Henson exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image in NY. Jim Henson and Frank Oz are masters of whimsical storytelling and character development. The amount of love and creative passion they pour into what they make is so beautiful it makes me teary-eyed!
