It's all about horror for me. Though I have my own ideas of what flies under that banner.

Maybe it's me, but this just didn't resonate with me. I haven't seen 4 in a while, but this is duking it out with that one for worst in the series. And again, was it just me or was the the CGI really crappy? And the characters were wooden and hard to root for? And how does wearing a leather jacket save your entire body from a blazing fire? I had to choose between seeing this and Sinners tonight and it seems I chose wrong. This movie just didn't jive with me and I'm confused why this is getting so many high marks here on Letterboxed.
This film, along with 28 Days Later, leaves me in the same quandary as the first two Alien films. Do I prefer the original with more atmosphere or the more action based sequel? Both times I'll give the originals the edge, but only by a hair. I believe this film gets unfairly criticized just because it's not what the first movie was. Then again if it was more like the original it would be criticized for not being different enough. Still, I feel this is one of the best "zombie" films out there.
