The music of Elephant 6 had significantly improved every facet of my artistic life when I was a teenager, and I’m glad I finally got to see a film shine light on such a significant collective of brilliant artists. Of course Mangum being completely absent from a documentary of a collective he founded was a glaring question mark and sadness but what isn’t in his world.
Still quite possibly my favorite piece of art ever made. So influential and inspiring to me, Eric Fournier is one of the greatest Video Artists who has ever lived making triumphant pieces of work durning his darkest of days.
I got to host a screening of this in Los Angeles in 2024 and am saddened to find out producer Carl Crew has passed away extremely short after. Without the support of Carl who hosted every set for Eric to film…

This is the greatest New Orleans film ever made. Unlike films like Louis Malle's "Pretty Baby" that primarily take place exclusively in a whore house or Jim Jarmusch's "Down by Law" which also frustratingly mostly takes place in a jail cell, with Baller Blockin' cinema truly got to see a side of New Orleans unlike any other, it saw the streets.
