Some killer killer lines throughout this - ‘you can put a cat in an oven, but that don’t make it a biscuit’- a film at its best when it lets its court-based banter shine. Strays a bit too far from this later down the line with mobs and money ramblings, nevertheless a fun one overall.
The sea holds a firm grasp over everything in this: memories, stories, lives lost, lives found.
Fishing is a hard graft, evidenced in some truly tangible, classic Jenkins scenes. It’s also more than just making a few quid on the side, it’s generational, intrinsic to the very fabric of local community and days of fishing gone by.
