visual story telling still carried so much weight in a way that is no longer relied upon nowadays. lots of motifs that i’ve seen a hundred times but feel like the first when in this context.

Saw this at an early premiere with my bestie Isaac and really enjoyed it, but didn’t love.
This time around it was one of the most fun in theatre experiences I have had in a while. Needle drops are plentiful, Ralph Fiennes is doing his damn thing, Jack O’connell is truly terrifying, and it’s just pretty to look at.
Is it just me or did they make Samson’s piece smaller this go around??? 🤔
