very interestingly shot in a similar way to a play (as noted by my astute friend I watched it with)!  had only ever watched Hitchcock’s horror movies so this was very a new experience ! a lot of his exactness but in a murder mystery format :0

true to its name there’s a lot of talking and little plot. the interplay of class + desire + fascism in post-war Europe + sexuality. enjoyed it a bit more once I read up on some context

idk the whole performer/artist man who will stop at nothing and treat women terribly to achieve some lofty goal storyline just never does it for me. the ping pong scenes were pretty engaging and had a stacked cast but this did not need to be 2.5 hours

okay there is lots of stuff wrong with this movie but I watched it for a midterm and cried way more than I should have
