I was expecting run of the mill horror with a gimmick but got a really masterfully done psychological horror with a bit of gore on the side.

It is basically a remake of a very first MK movie, which is IMO one of the best video game adaptations. MK2 nails the vibe, makes some changes here and there and it is very entertaining. Karl Urban is great as Johnny Cage and it definitely steals the show. If you have any nostalgia for MK this definitely something you will enjoy.

I wish I could love it because I love the casting and return to formula in wich Superman is simply a do-gooder, and it works. But the movie as a whole is messy and tries to do too much at once. But it is still worth watching.
