I'm kinda savin' the best for last.
Don't know how I've delayed this long on a great Texan David Lowery flick. Sissy Spaceck is magnetic, and Robert Redford is so darn charming, with a wry, calloused strength; Santiago catches a full net daily, and it's the boy that fishes for him. What a swan song, what a cowboy.
Formational. A PG-13 movie I had to sneak into. At some point, each of these dudes was my favorite. Hard to see how though. Heath was incredible. Catherine Hardwicke was pushing color visuals before Twilight. Soundtrack is one of the best.
You know it's Hooptober season in Austin when multiple people are waitlisting Cat People at the library. I'll keep my copy for less than a day (library karma, to make whoever checked out Phantom of the Paradise over a month ago finally return it).
Oh yeah, the movie! Beautiful lighting. The shadows give their own performance. Early noir inspo.
