What is a worker without work? This film made me think about the role that labour plays forming some of the most essential parts of our identity, particularly in the context of masculinity. 

The position and identity of worker is fundamentally relational, to both your labour and the people who work with. We see this at the very start of the film as Yoo rehearses his speech for his work comrades, refusing to axe any of them.

I wanted to enjoy this film but I felt pretty disappointed by it.  Regardless I am glad that it exists, I just wish it was better!

There were aspects of it that felt self congratulatory and others that felt unfinished and poorly handled. I want us to be able to talk about the issues touched on in this documentary with out retracing the fault lines of the past.

I think that the documentary would have really benefited from actually talking…
