Hostel crossed with The Polar Express.

An atmospheric classic that is affecting today nevermind almost a hundred years ago.

The first half of this film is an absolute joy. As the underlying tension builds and the plot establishes itself I was gripped as I had no idea what was coming next.

Once it gets a bit weirder it somehow loses that initial momentum but it is still an extremely satisfying film which comes across like a dialled down version of David Lynch circa Lost Highway.
