I Heard The Wireless Hum

Vile 90 minute Amazon commercial inexplicably directed by the guy who did the video for Rap God and in which Ice Cube barely gets out of a chair, like a late-stage Seagal. But what’s really killing me is the exclamation marks in the TV news chyrons. Many people have seen those and are aware of their style! But not this guy! Apparently!

viscerally afraid of the fascism, still uncomfortable enough with political violence against it that it feels like a great call to action for five years ago. mind you that’s still more explicit than any Hollywood movie I’ve seen. gets to the weird psychosexual aspects of fascism but also antifascism in a way I haven’t seen. depressing that on the cusp of an anti-trans genocide the sole trans person in the film is a non-binary kid who exists to show the protagonist is sort of woke but not very woke
