What this movie actually is about is school shooter tumblr which as a phenomenon is more interesting than school shootings but I’m kind of okay with the director not expanding on it too much cause it’s kind of iykyk but basically the moral of the story is we are surrounded by mostly normal seeming women who have participated in heinous things on tumblr.com and we all have to live with that

It is always difficult coming to terms with the truth that you are not the result of progress, or love, or any pure intention. We would all like to believe that we arrived here carried on the shoulders of those who want better for us than they had. But this is not true, we are here now as the bastard child of young idealism and fascism, of fetish and hatred, betrayal and cowardice. Half of our hearts carved out with a claim staked before we grew up to use them. How do we retrieve the pieces of ourselves that they believe to be theirs?
