I could not have been more predisposed to love this movie! But unfortunately left feeling a bit disappointed.

Ultimately, Across lacked the cohesion and right pacing of Into — obviously, it’s part one of two, but even then it felt almost too indulgent and unedited, gorgeous in excess but in need of more restraint.

Particularly in the film’s last 30 or so minutes, it felt lurching, reaching plausible stopping point after stopping point and almost blowing past character beats subsumed…
