Victor Frankenstein deserved better than what was going on here. I absolutely hated this Victor, and he was the only reason for this not being five stars. In the book, Victor is deeply flawed and often unlikable, but the beautiful writing allows us to understand why. We watch his arrogance, ambition, and obsession slowly destroy his life, and that arc gives the character weight.
