For about 30 minutes this was a joyful and fun human interest story . Then the revelations came…I wish this was a 6 part series with more about nature vs nurture science . As it was, fascinating and involving and enraging. I feel ill and outraged at what can be justified by some in the name of science…

And I’m always fascinated by how clueless and self absorbed people that did unconscionable things must be to agree to appear in docos - old lady in La Jolla, I’m looking at you. The worst.

🥰Val Kilmer 😅. Who knew you could be the anchor in a classic spoof. Who knew you could sing and dance like that , and just move the way you do . What a joy .

A visual treat with inventiveness and imagination that elevates this above many of the other spoofs. Extra half star for that alone .

Even when there were inevitable lulls or poor taste jokes, the highs were genuinely high and made up for the weaker moments or periods.

Fun fun.

Anora

You might say that given this was my first cinema outing since my daughter was born 12 weeks ago I was going to enjoy any film i saw on the big screen. Maybe. But not like this. Not many films are Anora.

Anora, another empathetic hilarious poignant real and human film from Sean Baker. As my wife put it (she saw it the day before, too hard to see at same time these days) it was a screwball comedy ...but so much more. The journey thrilled me, the characters captivated and amused me, the ending floored me. A special movie in a packed cinema.
