This film might have been titled the Fierce Urgency of Now. As commentary, intentionally or not given the 20–year gestation of the screenplay, on the current societal climate, you would be unlikely to find anything more on point and pointed, either committed to film, on television (though THE LAST OF US may come close), or as journalistic commentary.
