The 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Eddie Murphy

Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Eddie Murphy!

Been a fan since Day 1. A god! Great special event and Mel Brooks honors Murphy at the start! Damn!

Tag team this with Netflix documentary Being Eddie. His song "Party All The Time" is still one of my all time favorites and this Legend should've won the Oscar for Dreamgirls.

Chris Rock said it best: The is no us without you.

Narrated by the great, Roddy McDowall, the documentary was included in the 2001 DVD box set of the movies. It featured everyone who starred and made the films, including Chuck Heston.

My absolute favorite franchise! Every film is great, even Tim Burton's film which was the last to feature actual prosthetic makeup. And the 4 prequels have been a dream to this loyal POTA enthusiast.

The first movie in what I believe is Spielberg's scifi UFO trilogy, 2nd E.T. and the third, the soon to be released DISCLOSURE DAY, this was an unbelievable experience to see in cinemas in December of 1977 and a little scary at the time. The last 30 minutes are still the most exciting thing in film history.

It's interesting to read the press notes for DIsclosure Day: "In the film, while not a sequel to Close Encounters (sorry, Internet), DISCLOSURE…

Brilliant and Fantastic! It's only March but PROJECT HAIL MARY is the best film of the year. It's composer Daniel Pemberton best score and Ryan Gosling gives his career best performance ever. I can see this going the distance and right into next year's awards season. My goodness what a great story. This is what movies used to be... simple with beautiful cinematography from Grieg Fraser. And Rocky is so endearing, their relationship is sweet and funny only when it needs to be. A second viewing in the cinema is a must.
