With just a little more, I would have given this a three. While the fight scenes are good....there are only, like, two? I know it's aiming for short and tight on a smaller budget, but it still ended up feeling like 'most of a good movie'. Though the setting and end credits song point towards Assault on Precinct 13, which is nice, it also illustrates how that movie stretched budget, yet felt like more of an entire experience. Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad movie. I just wanted a little more movie in my movie.

Set design and atmosphere have a good classic Hammer horror feel, but there's not much more to recommend. Slow and tame, and y'know...sometimes I'm in for that on a cold and dreary afternoon. Today I was not. I almost gave it another half a star because it finally zagged in the last handful of minutes. I appreciated the attempt, but it wasn't enough to justify the overall lack of zest or suspense. Looked good though, even in the 4:3 version I watched.

Attempts to be arty and trippy, and every once in a while it succeeds. There were definitely a few intriguingly-staged shots sprinkled throughout. However, it mostly comes off as if the director recently discovered how to use digital effects and slow motion, and then decided to load the entire movie with them. I understand that the main character is being accosted in a manner designed to keep her questioning her own reality, and that the director is trying to convey that visually. It just doesn't work. It feels cheap and forced. Pity, as the lead actress is still watchable despite the mess.
