I left the theater feeling a bit mixed (leaning more positive than negative) but after thinking about it/talking about it more I’m really into what Parsons is going for here. For me, the movie works best when it leans into the found footage style that Parsons does so well in the YouTube series. In general I feel like the direction was stronger than the writing here and almost wish that there was less time explaining the ideas and even more time dedicated to exploring the Backrooms. Still though I thought that was pretty impressive, and as a fan of bleak endings I loved the final shot
