I left the theater feeling a bit mixed (leaning more positive than negative) but after thinking about it/talking about it more I’m really into what Parsons is going for here. For me, the movie works best when it leans into the found footage style that Parsons does so well in the YouTube series. In general I feel like the direction was stronger than the writing here and almost wish that there was less time explaining the ideas and even more time dedicated to exploring the Backrooms. Still though I thought that was pretty impressive, and as a fan of bleak endings I loved the final shot

I always enjoy a good heist movie, especially one that’s shitting on the NYPD to this extent.

Remember when Clive Owen was in movies?

I think the story of the Bad River Band’s ongoing legal battle with Enbridge is important and something that people should learn about. For that reason I’m glad that this was made and would recommend this documentary. That said, I have some issues with this movie’s presentation of the narrative and what, at times, feels like a lack of focus. Regardless, I appreciate that this is being shown in theaters, at least in Wisconsin.

Saw this with a live orchestra performing the music which was pretty damn cool. The final dance sequence in this is incredible. I think I’m in love with Gene Kelly now
