It's contemporary, feels a bit tone deaf at times, coupled with directoral oddities, but still insightful enough to appreciate despite also having Sean Penn, who I feel lives permanently up inside his own ass, in it. A chaotic, satirical, romp through modern day American horrors, equal parts timely and "too soon".

At least it talks about the topics it alludes to, unlike Civil War.

Not sure what I expected but damned if this film wasn't entertaining on several levels.
