I really liked so much of this (the performances, the settings, the music, the sound design, most of the script), but the ever so slightly too contrived ending went a bit too off the rails for me.

Part soap opera, part erotic thriller, and entirely batshit - this body-swapping ode to Stuart Gordon is loosely based on Lovecraft and (while not infrequently tonally jarring) manages to make for some gory, grotesque, midnight movie fun.

Watched at the world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival. As a related aside … sitting basically right in front of Heather Graham while watching her multiple truly bonkers sex scenes was a moviegoing experience I will treasure always.

This movie rips — an electric ride that rarely lets up (you can definitely feel the Uncut Gems DNA). According to the tagline, it’s about dreaming big … but it’s really mostly about that sometimes questionable, sometimes desperate kind of relentlessness you see in the hustler-est of hustlers. So many great faces in this, too. Dug it.

Secret screening and World Premiere at NYFF. Intro from Josh Safdie (who said he finished the film at 2am last night) and Timothée Chalamet.
