Have not watched since March 2020. Viewed this on my DVD from 2006. The parts with Jill and the baby gorilla, the fire at the orphanage, and the final goodbye made me tear up. Nestor Paiva was the drunk that started all the chaos with Joe destroying the nightclub. WOR New York used to show it every Thanksgiving with King & Son of Kong.

Received my Criterion 4k and went right into watching it. God be praised, it did not pause or skip! I rewatched it earlier this year on my Apple Digital copy when Valarie Perrine passed away. All the shots of the patrons in the clubs is still very amusing to me. The movie chugs along at a good pace. Easily my favorite Bob Fosse movie. Not too many extras. I will next watch while listening to the commentary.

From the same writer as Louis Jourdan‘s  BBC Count Dracula 1977.  I really enjoyed this retelling, but it is not pleasant. Plays up on the status of the rich and the surrounding poverty.  Hyde’s evil is the direct violence he inflicts upon lower status persons including children.  Jekyll’s fiancé reaction to Hyde was wonderfully spot on, to me at least.

What a mess of a movie.  Character interaction did not make any sense.  It was not good bad, just very odd. Cameron and Jayne were dubbed like the rest of cast.
