I knew this was never going to affect me as much as it would others because there's a lot of focus on the science (realistic science I guess and not so much realistic science I guess too?) to make the plot move forward and I never care about this or the fact that we have to save the world.

A bit overlong (Andy's new boyfriend was not needed) but the cast still completely slays of course and seeing these characters after so long was really nice. Nigel ❤️
More melancholic and perhaps less fun than the iconic first film but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Lots of nostalgia and callbacks yes, but it also has something to say that wasn't present in the first film (yes the state of modern journalism is depressing); and the characters' evolution after 20 years feels mostly natural. Which is more that we can say for most legacy sequels.
A very likable and sincere tearjerker which easily fits into the "underrated gem" category. Robin Williams really was kindness incarnate.
Self-Love. Taking responsibility. How growing up doesn't mean you have to completely lose your inner child.
