Maybe it’s bcs it’s my ddw* but to me this is a perfect movie about a dad trying to protect his daughter. He is well meaning but fucks things up over and over, likely thing for a dad to do. But when he can’t actually save her, the tools he gave her growing up that she rolled her eyes at do. In the end all he can offer is comfort, love and a shoulder to cry on to process this new reality. My dad would’ve loved this I think.
