Very, very solid. Curry Barker knows what he’s doing. (So pumped for his Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

Really good performances from Inde and Michael. They were both extremely impressive.

The comedy elements and comedic relief moments just took away from the horror aspects for me. I was struggling to really take it seriously at points.

The Drama
★★★½ Watched

Such an interesting film that causes you to feel a ton of different emotions.

Rob and Zendaya were extremely good in this. Their timing and line delivery was stellar.

This is a very hard movie to rate for me, but I am landing on a 3.5 for now.

A film I simply cannot stop thinking about. It left me wanting to know so much more and to me…that’s the entire point of the backrooms!

Heavily focuses on trauma and how that shapes the image and memories you have of yourself. This was so much more psychological than anything else for me.

Liminal spaces are such a fascinating idea and phenomenon. An infinite amount of space causing you to feel so claustrophobic and trapped.

The overall story and writing wasn’t the strongest, but the pacing and atmosphere make up for it on first watch.

The Breakfast Club
★★★★ Rewatched

The ability to converse with one another is a superpower. Use that superpower for good.

The confession circle scene is an all timer. Beautiful, yet so devastating.

All 5 of these actors brought their A Game. Watching such young actors put on performances like this is truly a privilege.

“We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it”

I Love Boosters

I respect the hell out of the creativity and uniqueness Boots Riley brought to this film. With that being said, it just becomes TOO much for me at a certain point.

I adored the colors and overall energy this movie had. Extremely vibrant and lively.

The message and themes were ones that I believe to be very prominent within today’s society. However, the way Boots attempts to deliver this message didn’t completely work for me.

Passenger

Just a painful amount of jump scares. So, so many. Too many.

The idea of this was so much cooler than the actual movie itself.

My heart rate increased a couple times at least.
