Drone shots, the movie. It's hard to come up with a director who gets better as they get older, and sadly, Michael Bay is no exception. Simply put: my favorite movie since Blade Runner 2049. An endearing story, brilliant performances, and a beautiful soundtrack. To me, Martin McDonagh captivates what I love about the early Coen brothers movies, but with the added bonus of relatable characters. Can't wait to see what he does next.
Gattaca sadly didn't hold up as well as I thought it would. It's not the movie's fault, but time definitely caught up to it. The cinematography, story beats and especially the sci-fi aspect of it all, felt so dated that I had a hard time taking it seriously.
