Similar to Obsession - another movie that I loved, but also found flaws in - what I’m most exhilarated by is the potential shown here. Kane Parsons is fucking 20! Challengers is such an absurd collection of talent - three leads, editing, directing, score - that it shouldn’t be surprising it pulls off the ridiculous high-wire act of creating a coherent story from the insane tonal components. It is still surprising - and it still fucking rules.
