I don’t like how this film made me feel… or do I?
Maybe I’m too young for this one and I just simply wasn’t the target audience but what was this film truly trying to do.
Was it paying homage to a time in cinema or the culture and society of the 70s? Was it criticising it? Applauding it? Did it want me to like the characters or hate them or feel for them? Possibly the only interesting strand was the complicated narrative of the female lead. How as attitudes and laws…
Anything but a joy.
Bland, beige and bleh. Hard to write a review as nothing really stuck with me which was so upsetting as I do love some of David Russel’s other work. Some great actors being absolutely wasted on this script and characters. I can’t bring myself to write much more because it is boring to even recall.
Also women don’t need to reject their femininity to be successful. They also don’t need to be like men to be successful!!
