This might be well regarded, but I found it incredibly boring. Alec Guiness is fantastic but the film is, otherwise, a total slog to get through.

The filmmakers took a major risk when they decided that none of the women in this movie should wear a bra, and I applaud their courage.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Where was the resolution to any character not named Elphaba or Glnda? Why was the wizard doing all of the evil stuff? Why did the sorceress, Michelle Yeoh, just let the monkeys take her away? Why was there zero character development and exposition for anyone and anything? Why did Nessa become a tyrant? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED IN THIS MOVIE?! The famous song was good.
Terrible film, created in the era when every so-called blockbuster needed to be filmed and released in 3D. The idea that Lincoln freed the slaves, and plunged the US into the Civil War, to save them from Vampires is maybe one of the most offensive things I've seen put to film.
