If this was a standalone action movie made anytime before 15 years ago it would make sense. It being a part of a larger shared world makes it worse. Even having it be a followup to an existing series detracts from it. Movies don't have to exist in reality, but this movie doesn't exist in the reality of this movie. in the middle of the movie I started thinking about how natural special effects can be now. It had the potential to be so goofy and distracting but instead my brain said yes that is real and normal and expected.
Quantity over quality. Quantity done with quality. Friendship ended with quality, now quantity is this movie's best friend.
