Ildikó Enyedi is a Hungarian director and screenwriter renowned for her poetic and introspective cinema. She gained international recognition in 1989 with My 20th Century, which won the Camera d’Or at Cannes. Since then, she has developed a rare yet impactful body of work, blending realism, fantasy, and an exploration of the human soul. In 2017, she made a celebrated return with On Body and Soul, which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. A major figure in European auteur cinema, Enyedi combines visual sensitivity with existential depth.
