I went into this one blind, only knowing that people had said good things about it and that I love Emma Stone. I guess I don't know what I expected, but that wasn't it.

What a delightfully weird movie.

Okay, I know people love to hate it. It's complicated, confusing, and doesn't really have a point. Maybe that's why I like it. It's really weird. Somewhere between a love letter to design, a reminder of collapsing empire, and a lot of other ideas that don't really come through clearly.

It feels nice to have a movie that isn't easy now and then.

This movie was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I went in thinking this was going to be heavy on the Orange Man is Bad vibes, and got basically none of that (thank science). Instead I got a full glass of Dunst-flavored Apocalypse Now.

I'm a sucker for any kind of space movie. But I have no idea what this movie was about, who any of the characters were, or why we should care about them, or why we traveled anywhere.

I'll still watch Part Two. Because I'm a sucker for punishment.
