What impressed me the most about this film was the fact that it came out in 1968. That is mind blowing to me. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, every shot feels meticulously crafted and decades ahead of its time. So many modern sci-fi films still borrow from visuals Kubrick perfected here, and even today there are sequences that look impossibly good for a film made over half a century…
