This is one of my favorite films of all time, and I often find myself ashamed to say that. This film is disturbing, deranged, and truly dreadful. It is a singular viewing experience that I don’t know if I would call particularly pleasant. It is a film that I have seen more times than most films.

Gaspar Noé’s Climax is brilliant. It is from the mind of a brave, master filmmaker who encroaches on every corner of human degradation to…

this was cute, but nothing really gag-worthy. it felt like a long youtube sketch at some points and by the end i feel the premise would’ve made for a much stronger short film.

i really hated this movie when i first watched it back in 2019 so decided o should give it a rewatch in theatres because it’s been a while

i still really hate it

the editing feels so disjointed, i have no idea why the storylines of rick dalton and sharon tate are paralleled, and as a matter of fact i don’t believe it’s clear at all what sharon tate actually wants in this movie. she just sort of glides around smiling and dancing and showing her feet.

Surprised people are rating this so low. This was a gorgeous movie. If you’ve ever come from a large family with a lot of cousins, or a sometimes dysfunctional family, you will immediately relate. Every character is so clearly and intentionally made, the writing is extremely poetic and there is so much breath in the story, yet the structure is airtight — except for a third act diversion that didn’t feel like it should have worked in the moment, but…

Beautiful film about one of my all time favorites. A somehow unpretentious film about the magic of filmmaking and the genius of Jean Luc Godard. Linklater erases any sense of style and lets the film and power of the New Wave take control, respectfully and lovingly paying homage to the great creative minds of the time. Such an inspiring movie to anyone who has made or wants to make films. Really strong performances and writing, also so special to watch…
