Really liked the grossout stuff in this. I couldn't tell what the overall tone was supposed to be. Almost all of the 'scares' felt like they were played for laughs, but the rest of the movie isn't very funny and even veers into melodrama at a few points. Overall et ganske bra film.

One of the best sci-fi / horror movies I've ever seen. Very thoughtful character writing, great performances from all 4 main actors, and killer SFX. The narrative builds up some fascinating tension between urges toward sex and violence that open up interesting themes around gender, sexuality, and humanity. Everything that tentacle fiction should be.

What can you say really? One of the all-time greats. Holds up completely. I saw John Carpenter do a Q&A recently where he said Kurt Russell is the most underrated actor of his generation. I don't really know if that's a reasonable thing to say or not, but I do know he's awesome in this Thing!
